Week3 EOC: .My Demographics

Generation Y refers to the population group in the US born from somewhere around 1976 to around 2000. They are sometimes called echo boomers because some of them are the children of baby boomers. On the other hand, some Generation Y children, especially those born in the late 1980s or afterwards, may be the grandchildren of baby boomers. Other names for this group are the Millennials, the Internet Generation, and the abbreviated Gen Y or Gen Yers.

All population groups tend to be tarred with generalizations, some accurate, and some completely missing the mark. This particular group has been called rude, retributive, and prone to childhood obesity and drug and alcohol abuse. While certainly a few Generation Y kids may have these issues, it’s a gross misconception to suggest this is true of all kids in this 24-year span. It would also be premature to make conclusive statements about this generation, since its youngest members are just now reaching their preteen years.
What can be said about this group that is in no way pejorative is that they are the first group to come to age just as the Internet began to completely flower. They are thus familiar, usually from childhood, with not only Internet surfing, but also all the gadgets that have come along with it. Cellphones, electronic organizers, cable radio, hundreds of television stations, and many more things folks born before this period would consider novelties are just the basic staples of existence for a Generation Y kid or young adult.
For this reason, advertisers to the Gen Y group specifically target this audience and see them as valuable current consumers or soon to be consumers. As a market, this group can have significant impact on spending, since 76 million people fall into the Gen Y category. Other trends that Generation Y seems to have impacted are things like the PG-13 rating, something that has only existed in the past few years. Film manufacturers often strive for the PG-13 rating, because to do so means they’ll attract the Gen Y audience, who are for the most part avid moviegoers and consistent spenders at the movies.
When Generation Y people are viewed in a negative light, this seems to be a reflection on the fact that they’ll comprise a significant amount of the workforce just as the last baby boomers hit the retirement age of 65. If Social Security stays in place, Gen Yers will be the ones paying into the system. With fewer people actually retiring at this age, conflict between the last baby boomers and Gen Y folks may certainly arise over competition for jobs. Concern may also exist about leaving the country in the hands of a group for which many negative generalizations exist.

The definition of my Demographics, is basically true when it comes to the generation that we have. it says it the column  above that "This particular group has been called rude, retributive, and prone to childhood obesity and drug and alcohol abuse." and i fell like that is most definitely a major problem we have in the world. the younger group takes major advantage of what we have in the world and break the age limit rule. i mean not saying i go against drinking but there is a limit you much know and a certain maturity that you should have in order to be able to consume alcohol. i feel like the description it gives about us is most definitely on point.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

Great customer service is the one thing everybody looks at when they are in a store. for example I work at a grocery store and the customers depend on you. it can make your or break you as a department/local store.if you have a bad attitude then that's what you get in return. vice versa. with a big smile and a welcoming greeting you represent your business as a whole. while most people say that Wal-Mart or target has the best customer service I beg to differ. I feel that the best customer service is at food 4 less here in Las Vegas Nevada. owned by Kroger their moto is "our prices are great, our people are great, you get what you want and more for less, and your experience will make you want to come back." I feel that all of that is true. from the cashiers to the customer service they do everything in their power and will to make your experience at their store as best as possible. no matter what problems the store may have or what people they bring in they always help you with a big welcoming, a big smile, best information and an amazing farwell. so if anyone in my opinion wants to see some really good customer service I suggest food 4 less.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

To be continued. . .

week1: My Voice

Your typical girl making her way through life and finding who she really is and who she is going to become. that is the kind of girl I am. this blog thing kind of makes me think. im a thinker. theres always something running through my mind. I guess if I had to share my self world wide and let people know who I really am i would probably say something like this.... I am Alyssa, i grew up around sports and never really learned the whole girly girl side of things but i am the girliest girl ever. Its quite funny actually. i grew up around 2 boys and learned real quick that you play with the big boys you'll get hurt so its suck it up defend yourself. but on the plus side i did learn how to not let anyone walk all over me. of course there are those times when you will see the girl side of me where i just wont defend myself but for the most part never let down your guard and only trust few..... Fashion, fashion, fashion. That’s all I ever think about. Ever since I was little the main thing on my mind was always what looks good, how it looks good and how I can improve it to make it look twenty times better then it already does. When I was younger I had gone to a fashion show and it really it home to me. I knew right then and there that was my passion and that’s what I wanted to succeed in. a little bit about myself I am a stylish young lady who was raised with manners and a hard head. I’m a very hard working girl who sets a goal and has the goal mind set to where it must be accomplished . where I plan on taking this idea is making the two types of clothes that most people in America wear. For both sex’s sports wear would be my first line to release. The next line I want to release is the more girly side to every women. The glitzy glamorous clothing line. I want the biggest line in history. I want to do more work and succeed more then Nike. I want to be bigger then true religion. I plan on being one of the best designers this worlds ever seen. Coming from the bottom of the one to being at the very top is where I plan to be in the future. Ten years from now I want to be one of the worlds most successful women. Maybe even being bigger then the number one fashion designer in the world as of now. The one and only fabulous Coco Chanel. She is since the nineteen centuries. Mrs. Chanel has been the biggest fashion designer ever from clothes to shoes to hand bags and many many more. She truly is an amazing role model to future designers. She had a unique fashion and very basic but yet made it cute and made it big in life. I plan to follow in her foot steps and hopefully be better then she was. I think another reason why I have always wanted to be a designer is because clothes these days are so expensive especially for some good quality name brand clothes they are very expensive. So why not be smart and think like this. My logic behind what I am about to say is about me what I want to say and do in the future. I want to make amazing clothes that the world loves and wants to but so when I do make these clothes I want to sell them for reasonable prices. I want the world to be able to afford my stuff not only sell it to the more fortunate people but not make it so low that the less fortunate people cant afford it either. I want my clothes to be the equalizer between high class to middle class cause we are all people who are dealing with everyday life and the struggles with it I think clothes shouldn’t split you into categories so along with being the best of the best I want to be successful and sell a lot of what I make. Because making people happy is what its all about. Not hope popular your brand is for how many awards you receive or reorganizations its about creating a better place and we can all start with one simple dream turning it into reality. I am a believer and I am sticking to it.
